Stage III Water Use Restrictions Notice to Customers. Restrictions Still Include No Outside Water Use

After one of the hottest summers on record, and September was also several degrees warmer than normal, we continue to be in Extreme Drought. September rainfall was inadequate to prevent an expansion of Extreme Drought, especially in the watershed area of our water source and while the rains have improved soil conditions in the watershed area slightly, no significant runoff into the lake has resulted. Although outlooks favor above normal precipitation, it will take some time to reverse the extraordinary deficits across the region.

In a continued effort to prepare for these Extreme Drought conditions, the City of Mineral Wells has advanced to STAGE III Water Use Restrictions of their Water Conservation and Drought Contingency Plan as of September 7, 2023. Please see this link to information from the City of Mineral Wells concerning current conditions and the steps being taken under STAGE III. https://www.mineralwellstx.gov/DocumentCenter/View/8249/DCP_StageIII_DroughtUpdate_092223

In cooperation and per our agreement with the City of Mineral Wells, Millsap WSC is also advancing to and implementing STAGE III Water Use Restrictions of the Water Conservation and Drought Contingency Plan beginning October 1, 2023, and going forward and will remain in effect until further notice.

These restrictions include the mandatory water conservation measures implemented in Stage II that continue to be in effect. In addition, we are also expected to reduce our water usage an additional 5% for a total reduction of 30% during STAGE III, as well as other requirements. These measures are intended to prohibit non-essential water use. These measures will continue to include  No Outside Water Use except for Animals, as well as other measures. Please see the posted notice HERE for further details regarding these water use restrictions.
